Power Wedge message

Recommended Posts

My buddy picked up a gently used '06 V-ride a couple weeks ago. It has a manual wedge on it, but every time you turn on the key, it displays a message that the power wedge is moving up (or something similar). It's a bit of annoying message, and seems that it just takes that much longer for the gauges to be ready. Is there a set-up function that tells the computer that no power wedge is installed?

Maybe the message is there to rub it in your face for not spending the extra for the PW.

Searched like crazy and this is close to my problem: I've got a manual wedge and I get "slow speed power wedge deployed" or something like that. It starts complaining around 30mph. Anyone have any easy fix?

Thx.

On my VRide in the setup menu it has the option to turn the PW option on/off. You may want to check that, it may be turned on and searching for the PW. (I don't have a PW)

Yep, tell the system that you don't have a Power Wedge on your boat (I think this can be reset when power is cycled) and the messages will go away.
