Fuel pump: Carter = OEM?

Recommended Posts

slap

As I found out here, I need a new fuel pump.

Does anyone know if the OEM pump is made by Carter?

Indmar OEM Part# S556014 or 556014

Vs.
Carter P60962
I've found the Carter on eBay for $199. The Indmar OEM is $375 - $440 depending on the vendor. I don't want to cut corners on the fuel delivery system, but I'd hate to pay double for an "OEM" part if it's just a Carter pump with Indmar stamped on it.
I have a 2000 SS LXI. (325 HP Monsoon EFI)

I had the carter one on my old '01 SSLXi, here is my old parts list for that boat plus the parts list the guy who actually started the thread had.

Woah, how have I never stumbled upon that thread? Super useful. Thanks!

FYI, as others have found the Carter part is no longer manufactured. The Indmar part is expensive, but I found a merchant from right here in the good 'ol USA who is charging $110 less than anywhere else I could find. I called them to make sure the parts are not aftermarket (I found some of those on fleaBay), and was pleased to speak to a very knowledgable guy who assured me the part would be shipped to me directly from Indmar. (Actually, I called land and got an answering machine and hung up. A minute later they called back to say they'd just missed a call from my number. Great service!)

Anyhow, for the next guy looking for an Indmar part, check them out: http://www.marineexhaustmanifolds.com/indmar-marine-engines-and-parts.htm
