VLX Slalom Storage

Recommended Posts

BillyBobL71

Just bought a new to me 2011 VLX. When asked about storage for slalom skis, someone at the dealership told me a lot of people remove the divider under the passenger side seat cushion. I removed the screws from the L shaped brackets, but it si still very solid like it was nailed, stapled, or glassed in. Anyone remove this divider?

Thanks,

Bill

I just faced the same dilemma as you. I have a '14 VLX with the same seat divider. I was able to leave the divider in and for the skis placed bottom to bottom under the observer seat and into the battery compartment. They fit between the amps and the batteries with just enough room to stick past the opening under the observer seat.

Did you ever solve the ski storage issue?  I recently upgraded from 2008 VTX to 2014 VLX and am disappointed with the divider under the passenger seat.  Skis all fit in the VTX nicely.  Tried removing divider but ran into same issue you listed.

Sawzall?

But seriously - if I had to guess I would say there are likely some screws hidden in the carpet on the outside of the seat bases that are going into the edge of the divider.

Why not just put it on a rack on the tower?  That is where mine goes.

That is where mine go when im using them, but otherwise they are both in bags under the seats.
