Depth finder transducer

Where are they on an '01 23lsv?

My depth finder will work most of the time but will not read bellow 6.9ft (cause me to slightly hit a sandbar this past weekend). Then sometimes it will go from 1 ft to 440ft. From searching on here it seems these parts are no longer available and that if they come loose they read a little funny. Hoping that it has just come loose....

Mine was on the port side just aft of the V-Drive. Thru hull transducer. I replaced mine with an aftermarket thru hull transducer and depth gauge this past winter. Good luck.

do you happen to remember which transducer you replaced it with? did you just splice the new one into the old harness?

I replaced it with a HawkEye. In my case the reason I replaced it was due to my old LCD multi-display failing so adding the new gauge was a must. I just mounted it on the side of the dash next to the tach. One thing of note, the diameter of the existing transducer was smaller than the one I replaced it with (1.75" vs 2" for the Hawkeye). I ended up having to take a small drum sander attachment on my drill and enlarge the existing opening. Not hard, just a bit dusty and nerve racking since there's not much margin for error.
