Who else is anal about drying your boat out?!

If my boat gets wet, I will only cover it to keep it from getting wetter. I always let the sun dry it. I was shocked at how fast it will dry on a sunny breezy day. I feel sorry for folks at a marina who have to cover their wet boat when they leave at the end of the skiing day.

I had an old ventilation fan lying around, so I put it in the rafters blowing straight down at the boat. I can soak the interior with water, put it away, turn the fan on, and it's bone dry in just hours. No more mold problems!

Moving air beats sunshine, especially where it rains for three days straight.

I always pull my sacs, prop the seats up with a handle and let it dry out a day before covering. Yeah it takes a little effort to keep it all up, but even my oldie goldie boat wasn't exactly given to me so a little extra effort to keep her looking nice is worth it.

thats what I do...well, unless something like rain prevents it.

So glad the new boat doesn't have carpeted storage like the MC did.

I use one of these if i have to cover the boat and its still wet inside http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014TMXVA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

thing is awesome and my boat is nice and dry when i open the cover next time around.

I will have to get one of these!!! Will it work in the storage with the cover off? It's like 8' wide, 10' tall (at the door, then prob 15') and 25-27' long.

I feel that with mine being a 2000 model, the less sun the better as far as hurting the interior. I usually keep mine at the house on the weekends provided no rain in the forecast since we go back to back days. I just cover it when we're done for all the dang cottonwood and sun, unless it's soaked. If I had a slip I would definitely be going back to cover it the next day or so to let it dry. Seems like a part time job being a boat owner as far as keeping stuff dry!

I envy you! Since I upped my budget for a V-drive instead of an outdrive I was realllllly hoping for a snap in carpet boat. Nothing was available in my market within 300-400 miles within my price range though :-/ Edited by triscadek

open every seat under the cover (over the tower cover), thanks they are all now on hinges, and i have the luck that i don't have any carpet on the boat. No wet stuff in the boat. The last one was hard to dry, and the carpet was starting to stink, who had the idea to use carpet in the locker and then put the bags in? Bags that most of the time i could not empty to 100%..... to me, that was a product manager who never was on the water with his own boat.

My boat is mooring from may - oct. The bilge is never complete dry.

I too keep mine covered when not in use. I will cover it loosely if it will be used again that day. Like your saying the sun will take its toll eventually, even with using 303.

Folks with slips cover their boats when not there because they worry about theft.

What is this "303"? And what's good to treat the upholstery with to keep it from drying out? Or is that the 303? Lol

Mine stays in a open carport next to my house. I leave it open (uncovered hatches open) for a day after use unless my neighbor decides to mow her lawn and spray grass and dust all over it. I swear she waits until I bring home a clean boat and then fires up the lawn mower and takes a pass next to the boat. Sorry, I should start a good neighbor thread.

It does say works for about 1000 Cubic feet, so i use it under the cover. I would imagine if you got a couple of these it would work pretty well and they're not terribly expensive.
