Trailer Jack Snapped

Recommended Posts

Well, a good weekend ended with a minor mishap. I was having my brother help me pull the boat out of the water by driving the trailer from the house to the launch, while I took the boat over there. Start loading the boat and he looks down and say the jack wheel broke off. Sure enough, it looks like it came unlocked and snagged the ramp and sheered the wheel base right off. I'm sure (because I'm paraniod) it was locked into place before he left. The driveway leaving the house is pretty bumpy some maybe just shook loose or at the launch which is pretty bumpy also.

Either way, currently using a couple cement blocks and a thin piece of wood to support where the wheel should be. Anyone know of any problems leaving it this way for a couple weeks? Also, is the replacement just as simple as taking off the four bolts, putting the new jack on and replacing the four bolts?
