Need ski suggestions for my daughter

Recommended Posts

Hey Crew,

I need to get my daughter a slalom ski she's got the ski bug. She's 5.9 - 145 ish and is skiing at 30mph. I'm looking for something she will not outgrow for a while. I've been told the Radar Lyric 65 is a great ski but don't want to shell out the $500 right now. Does anyone know of a similar ski does not have to be new, would be happy with a older or used ski

Thanks,

PTM

Look at ski-it-again, alot of gr8 deals on skis only a few years old...i would go to any ski manufacturer web site also to see what recommended size ski she might need..

My wife is selling her 66" HO Esprit if interested. It is in great shape. I can provide pics if desired.

I'd also look at the radar Senate in a 65 for her height and weight, there will be more of them around. The lyric is a little softer version of the senate.

Its likely if you pick a nice ski with the weight and height you have given she will not out grow the ski for some time. She should be into a full size ski not something in the kids class A 66 or 67 inch ski should be fine. Has she skied on a slalom ski in the past? and will she have a good instructor to get her up to speed.

I am asking because the bindings are a big choice, as much as the ski. Both for safety and comfort, and control.

Its hard to give a lot of advice without knowing more. How athletic she is? How determine, ability to follow advice,

And the boat driver can make or brake the teaching proses.

I got an Email just the other day fro Wiley's they had a good ski sale going. Also very good people to help with the choice of a ski if you should decide to go new.

I also think Ski it again is a good such place for used.
