Steering Cable

I recently replaced the steering cable (Teleflex rack 15 foot cable) in my 1998 Malibu Response. We got it in, but now there is a sound/noise when one turns the wheel. It is a rubbing noise. My guess is that the pin by the rudder is too tight? Any other thoughts/suggestions?

Try that first. I guess that you could have put the rack together wrong, but you should have bigger problems than noise if that were the case.

Did you lube the rudder while you were in there? Just one or two shots of grease in each zerk is all you need.

Using it might make it go away. Try that first.
