We got the Flightcraft in yesterday. Its a peppy little thing. First question, I replaced the steering cables and it is stiff to turn right but not left (left is still stiff though). I lubed the tubes up when I replaced them. second question, The overheat alarm and oil injection alarm aren't working. I replaced the alarm and still nothing. Any advice/suggestions are appreciated and I am sure I will have more by the end of today :)

Is the steering stiff always, or are you talking about when you are going fast? If it is speed related, adjust the trim tab on the lower unit.

This ^^^^^^^^^. The vertical tab on the bottom can be adjusted to offset the torque of the prop. Makes a big difference.

When I looked at replacing my steering cables, it was like $350 for new steering cables and $900 for a hydraulic steering set-up. I went with the hydraulic set up which is awesome. One finger steering. Every big Outboard I have ever driven with the regular type steering cables is a chore to steer.

I had a Carlson that had the two steering tubes opposed, one on the starboard side, one on the port. It was great. Very little torque at speed, and it had just enough tension fighting itself that it never seized.
