Can't control stereo from Maliview

I have the Fosgate 5500 black box and the Maliview screen. On the Media screen, I can see the volume and mute controls, but they don't work. I can control the stereo from the head unit, but not the Maliview screen. I disconnected both of the round adapters coming out of the black box and checked that all the pins were in good shape. They looked fine. Could it be a connection at the Maliview screen? Any suggestions?

Finally brought the boat to the dealer for the 20 hr service. The stereo guy said it was a bad black box. Getting replaced under warranty.

Black box was replaced and the Maliview is working fine. Can control the stereo from the Maliview. Seems like there are some problems with the Fosgate black box.
