Depth Gauge 1ft - 2012 vRide

Recommended Posts

Put my 2012 Malibu Ride in the lake yesterday evening and immediately noticed that the digital depth readout was indicating a static 1 foot. All other dash indicators are displaying information properly. I know the depth transducer located under the rear seat also senses water temperature and that is displaying correctly. Any suggestions of what I can test or try to avoid pulling out of water and taking in to dealer?

I'd buy and swap out that thru-hull transducer before taking it to the dealer. I think they can be bought for $50-75. Much cheaper than a dealer visit. You could always return it if you try it and have the same issue.

I would try to source the part online as well, if you are set on fixing it.

Imo I probably wouldn't fix it. They aren't that accurate to begin with and by the time the alarm goes off at speed it's already too late. I try to research lakes as much as possible if I'm going to a new lake.

I would make sure it's plugged in.

I should probably make sure the boat's in the water also.
