2011 VLX Stereo Issues

I have a 2011 VLX that as far as I know still has the stock RF set up. For some reason the right side speakers completely shut off when we use the AUX cord or the radio and the left side is very quiet. When we run it on Sirius satellite the whole system sounds great. I have tried different AUX cords and removed the amplifier panel looking for loose wires a couple times. Does anyone have any good ides for where to get started trouble shooting? I would hate to tow it an hour into town to find out it's an easy fix.

Are you using the Rockford Fosgate input panel in the glove box? RFX33SD, RFX30, or similar? The input panel in the glove box is connected to the "black box" on the amp board/mounting plate. Bypassing the input panel and directly connecting to the black box can help troubleshoot a faulty connection; It may also be that there is some corrosion on the terminals of the wiring going from the input panel to the black box, simply unplugging and replugging 2-3 times may clear up the issue.

Basic troubleshooting: remove all components that aren't absolutely necessary and see if the problem still exists, then slowly add components back until the problem reappears, once it reappears the last component added is the culprit.

Try another 3.5mm cable from the headphone socket on you phone to the aux socket.

May have a dud cable.

Or, if you have a case on your phone, it may be preventing the plug from full insertion connecting the right speakers
