Toyota's infamous ski boat.  The gave up after a couple years because of quality issues.

Pretty sure you're confusing the Toyota MODEL Epic with the boat manufacturer EPIC.  I'm not aware of any quality issues with the Toyota boats.

Nope, not confused. I've heard Toyota had trouble consistently molding hulls.  One would be good, the next ill handling.

But for maintenance, nothing easier to find parts for than a lexus marine engine 😛

Do the brake lights actually light up?  Or are those vents?

actually yes.  i believe they were wired into the trailer, so when towing they were active.

Toyota failed in the boat market because they made boats for almost an entire year from a mold that was slightly warped. Had a couple of accidents when boats chime locked. They ended up having so many warranty refunds they folded up. Seems like they only were in business like 2 or 3 years.

True, can you imagine trying to buy a damper plate or an exhaust manifold for it??

This listing totally feels like a scam.  Has anyone seen this type of scam?

"Let me know what you have. No dealers please. I only need one boat for my personal use. Have cash. No financing needed. 2015+ Malibu Boat only."

Not necessarily a scam.  I'd be fine replying and treading lightly.

I had put out an add saying I am looking for a Malibu response lxi. So knowing that it’s not necessarily a scam.

I purchased our boat via a WTB add I posted on Craigslist 7+ years ago.  She was never listed anywhere before I scooped her up cheap!
