How to remove back seat in Sporty

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me how to remove the back seat in my 04 Sporty. I'm trying to get access to the bolts for the rear deck mounts. I noticed the top ones are a little loose. If I lean on the deck I can see the mounts pull away from the transom slightly. Is there a rubber type washer on the inside? Thanks for any help.

oK, scratch everything after hello. i can't believe I never had the middle of the back seat out. Mine fit nice and snug. Took the sides out and can reach around the gas tank to the bolts.

Remove your blower grid, slide blower aside, might need to remove some screws... the you will be able to access thru the blower hole.. I suggest a long sleeve t-shirt or you will scratch for hours from the fibreglass splinters... good luck.

I second the long sleve shirt! lol

It's a pain in the but but can be done. Bolts are along the top edge and as dan said remove the blower vent cover and you can access the middle bolts, other wise the ones on the corners you will have to get from the sides - long arms and don't drop the washers! lol :)

Long skinny arms for the corner bolts. I had to remove the coaming pads to get at mine. I think mine had 13 bolts in all.
