I've been chasing a problem that we've had for a while, & I think (read, hope) that I've got it fixed. Members have been reporting that they couldn't make profile changes, & apparently there was a setting that was changed on every single group's permissions that I believe was disabling profile changes. It must have come through as part of an update, because I didn't change it & there was no reason to. Apologies for this.

If anyone that was having difficulty making profile changes could report back on this, I'd sure appreciate it. I'm not sure, but it may require that you log out & then back in again to have the permissions updated. Hard to say not that one.
