Off season boat projects?

Allways a good topic to help plan for off season. Looks like bunks, bunk carpet and service seals on trailer wheels. Need to do a deep clean on carpet as well. Hope the off season is still a ways off...

My project (1997 xstar) will begin with dropping in a fresh chevy 350... Getting that running and timed good, installing new marine carpet, reupholstering all the seats myself, installing a big stereo system, taking the boat to be vinyl wrapped. Then selling in the sping.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Here's my list for my '98 Sportster LX that I've only had for a few months. I want to spice it up without adding too much money to it:

 • Winterize - Full Fluids Change - DONE
 • Replace Both Fuel Filters - DONE
 • Replace Thermostat - DONE
 • Carpet Shampoo/Real Good Cleaning - DONE
 • Refinish Teak Swim Platform - Half Done
 • Polish and Replace Transom Decal - Half Done
 • Figure out a Seat Riser
 • Some kind of Gunwale Storage with Mesh Netting
 • Cheap Bluetooh Adapter for Stereo
 • 2nd Battery?
 • I may update the old gold sun hull decals to a new hunter green 'MALIBU' decal

I pulled the boat off the lake yesterday. First time in a couple months that the boat & trailer have seen each other. Hull was a little slimey, but cleaned up pretty easily. Drained everything, covered it, plugged in the bilge heater & battery charger. I had treated the gas a week or so ago. Done.....for now.

Bought some nice plush beach towels at Costco this week. Laid it out today to get an ideas what it'll look like. The stripes are going to clash a bit with the bimini, but i don't think it'll be too pad.

Unfortunately i had surgery on the rotator last week so it might be a while before i get going on it.

Boat is an 86 skier.

The original plan was to get the engine out and take care of the soft engine mounts/probable bad stringers. That got pushed off for work related reasons and will wait until next year.

-Sand and refinish swim platform (don't think it's ever been touched)

-Complete stereo overhaul with a new amp, speakers, wiring, etc

-Fix broken speedo

-Clean up PO wiring hacks

-New belts and impeller

-Buy and install bimini top

-Tower delete

-Add cleats on the bow somewhere

-Count days remaining until I can get it back in the water.

Finally got my boat out on the lake. And she floats! This has to be the latest I've ever been. Still nursing a torn rotator cuff..... I'm 10 weeks out of surgery with a 7 cm tear of the bicep & supraspinatus. I've been in PT for a few weeks now, still lots of stretching & haven't started any strengthening yet.... officially. Unofficially I've been on the foil once, and on the paddleboard a half dozen times. Still being careful, no crashes, no flips, just skiing & enjoying being out on the water. again.

And I finished my winter project. Or I'm close anyway, still need to have a pair of holes cut & hemmed for the latches. And a little hard to open & close. But it seems to be working so far.
