Just picked up my New response 2006 Clap.gif ! When I got home and waxed it, I noticed that there are 2 damaged area on the bottom of the boat. One is two 1/4 inch by 2 inch scatches near the rear of the boat and the other is a 12 inch scratch on one of the edges with a chip threw the gelcoat the size of a nickel. Mad.gif And that is not to mention that the whole area that was in contact with the fork lift's forks are full of microscatches. Cry.gif So much that I can tell you the exact lenght of the lift's forks! Has anything like this ever happened to you? Do you know what the dealer should do? Am I allowed a rebate or credit? How about if the repair doesn't hold? Am I limited to the 24 month waranty? Anybody...? :(

PS. I will post some pics as soon has I get them...

If they damaged it, it's not subject to warranty. They have insurance to cover that kind of thing, but the important thing to do is to let them know about it ASAP. The sooner the better, because the longer you let it go, the easier it will be for them to dispute the claim. As for how gel fixes go, a good gel guy will make it very hard to see that there was ever a problem, & the fix will hold just fine.

Sorry to hear about the damage, when my brother and I took delivery or our new '05 response lxi last year we noticed an area just above the ski platform that was damaged, it looked like a forklift fork hit it, 1/4" deep gouge. We pointed it out to the dealer before we left the parking lot and they had it repaired for us. I would mention it to them as soon as possible as mentioned in an earlier reply.
