02 response .. high idle on starrtup when warm

my ski buddy has an 02 response with a325 monsoon.. it idles high occasionally upon startup when warm( like it s cold) and sometimes it is flooded... had the injectors cleaned and serviced,( was making oil) and its still doing it. 300 hrs on the motor. been doing this since new.. dealer put a map sensor in it... no change. any thoughts?

Did the dealer check the fuel pressure? Regulator could be bad, especially if it is still pumping gas into the oil.

Could also be the IAC motor.

yes, ive read a bit about this iac, can i just unplug it to test?

I think you can remove it and plug it back in to the harness, then turn the key to on. It should cycle to one end. Turn the key off and move it to the other end, and try again. It should move all the way to the other end again. If it's not smooth or doesn't seem to move to the same place every time, suspect it.

While you have it out, spray some carb cleaner on it to get the gunk off. For that matter, clean the whole inside of the throttle body.

I would suspect fuel pressure first, so get a gauge and test it with key on/engine off, then idle, then WOT.

The IAC is faily inexpensive and easy to change.
