2007 vtx, ballast in rear compartment

We bought our boat used and it came with 400 fly highs with a piggyback system I think it's called, ther is a sticker that says do not exceed 75 lbs, area not intended for ballast. Do you think I should be worried about this or is it no big deal.

The guy @ Malibu says it can damage the hard tanks. There is a little sag in the floor panel it sits on

Don't even worry about it. They all say that. I have 1500 lbs on the floor of mine with no issues.

Well, I had a 2007 VTX that I continually loaded those rear compartments with over 1000 lbs for six years with no damage to the hard tanks

Just about anyone that knows anything about these boats will tell you they do the same. You decide who you want to believe, but 10 plus years and countless hours in these machines tells me the time we spent discussing this thus far is a waist.

The " guy" @ Malibu is giving you the standard compliant response.

The cover to our mid ballast system (btwn driver seat and passenger seat blew out on a road trip for our 2007 VTX.  Anyone have any recommendations on replacing?  Apparently the part isn’t made By Malibu  anymore.
