Hyperlite State

Headhunter 2317

I've been looking at getting a new board for the summer. Since I am a larger rider, 6'3 230ish, I'm going to need a big one. Jason at Wakeside recommended the State board for the kind of riding I do which is just basically jumping the wake (the higher the better), 180's on the surface and in the air. He says the board provides a nice stable landing and has good pop and edge hold.

Any insights to this or another board perhaps?

I bought a State 135 last year for my kids and they like it a lot. Big improvement over the Evil Twin. My 15 yo did his first 360 jumping the wake with it right off. We just go off the ski pylon, too. The HO dealer pushed me towards it over a Liquid Firce Omega. Seems like a good board but, we are hackers, not pros. I haven't seen much about it since it came out last year though, such as pics of pros using it or any mention of it in magazines.

I am a hacker too. It is a great beginner board. Feels very heavy when you jump. It is very stable and easy to edge hard with. I am 6'1" 190 lbs. I have the 140. Sorry about the late reply. If you haven't bought one by now, you wuld need a 145. Good luck. You should always demo if you have the choice.
