What's the best way to tune my new system

So I finally got my system all installed. So here is what I have

Sony tune tray HU

WS420SQ with built in line driver

Arc Audio 300.4 for 6 wet sounds XS 650's

Arc Audio 600.2 for 2 Rev 10's

Arc Audio 300.2 for one arc audio black series 12V2

The install was the easy part and I've never really gotten technical with tuning. I have always just done it by ear. I am wandering if I should tune this the same way or should I use a test tone and a voltmeter to set the gains. Then I don't know what the process is for setting the built in line driver on the 420SQ. Do I set it first with my gains all set to zero on the amps? I realize that the gain is just matching the signal coming in but how do I know determine what the built in line driver is doing. I don't have any fancy distortion detectors or oscilloscope so was wandering if I should just set this up with a multimeter or just trust my ears and go for it.

Well wasn't done and hit the wrong button so part 2 is some people say to turn the HU 3/4" of max and other people say no the newer HU don't clip like the older ones so just crank it to max . Thanks for the help

Typically you will set all control at the amps first, then leverage the 420 last if needed. If you have a smart phone, there is an app called Real Time Analyzer that can help you set the frequencies and is a great tool. Adjust the amps to get the optimal frequencies for each purpose. Then, if needed, tweak them with the EQ.
