2014 Black Box- Adding Sirius XM?

I've been told that the black box in the 2014 is still the RFX5000.... This black box requires the SCC1 kit to add Sirius XM to the boat..... The only problem is, they don't make the SCC1 anymore!!!! How am I supposed to add Sirius to the boat now??? I'm kinda pissed that Malibu is using an outdated unit that I can't add Sirius to....

Rockford makes a new RFX6000-SX unit which takes the new SXV200 Sirius kit.... That's what Malibu should be using in their boats....

Because I believe it was like a $300-$400 option from the factory.... The add-on kits like the SCC1,and the newer SXV200 are $40 on amazon, and just plug right in.... I added it on my 2010 a couple years ago using the SCC1 kit, and had planned on just doing that again.

I was going to be adding Wet Sounds tower speakers and an amp, so I figured I'd just plug in Sirius while I was in there.... Should have been a 10 minute job if that kit was still available.

I couldn't remember what the price was from the factory. I would do it myself for that price too! There has got to be someone that still has them.

It looks to me like these are universal kits. Might get a hold of RF and see if the new kit will work with the rfx5000. I bet it would.

I've researched this myself. Unless you want to pay a premium for a used or rebuilt SCC1, you are pretty much out of luck.

I'm not going to replace the black box and remotes to add sirius.

I've contacted RF. The newer SXV200 kit is not compatible with the RFX5000 unit. I need the SCC1, or some sort of docking kit to add a portable radio....

Here's what I debated doing on my boat, Was going to install the SCVDOC1 in place of the SCC1, then use a portable car unit for the tuner. That way I would just need one subscription for my car and boat instead of two.

I should take a look at home, I may even still have the SCVDOC1.

That's a route I could go, but would just leave it in the boat.... Already have subscriptions in our vehicles, and don't want to screw around with a portable unit there. Just not happy that Malibu is selling a boat with an outdated stereo in it that I can't add Sirius to the proper way!

I actually have a basically brand new SCVDOC1 kit for sale. This is a better option than using the SCC1 tuner as you are stuck using the tuner for only the boat as you can use a portable unit with it that the head unit controls.

The kit was purchased new, I basically removed it from the box, used the sticky tape mount, then figured out it wouldn't work for the application I was going to use it on (I already have another one of these kits in the boat). Put it back in the box and haven't got around to listing it yet.

I might also be willing to part with my portable unit as well if you are interested.

Thanks... Didn't think of CL for this.... Saw one locally brand new. We'll see if he still has...

The more I think of it, if the portable Sirius radio can be controlled by the RF head unit, maybe just using a SCVDOC1 mounted down on the amp board wouldn't be all that bad.... Then I could get a home kit as well, and move the portable to my house during the winter....

If the head unit can control the SCC1, then it highly likely it will control the SCVDOC1.

SCVDOC1 is just a "dock" for the portable Sirius radios.... But yes, it sounds like you can control the portable radios through the head unit with the SCVDOC1.

weren't these only $99 new when they were in production?

Hmmm... not sure. You may be right. I was just comparing them to what Malibu charges so $250 didn't seem so bad to me. I even saw a used one for $50, although it was missing the antenna (a $17 part).
