Bow Ballast Completed

Recommended Posts

RayRay

We finally got out today to surf here in MN, air 55 water 49, I just have to remember that it will only get warmer. I recently had my bow ballast bag all plumbed in and thought I would post up some pics. We used a johnson reversible pump. There is a quick connect installed thru the cup holder, so we can easily remove the bag if need be. Today was the first time in five years of surfing that I didn't throw a tsunami pump over the side to fill a bag and it was the best feeling ever! Surfs Up!!!

slick set up... how did you end up mounting the pump? just short screws up into the floor?

I am thinking of doing something similar on my VLX, just debating whether to to the integrated bow sac or doing something above the seats like yours. Mine only has the 3 hard tanks

first time out for me as well yesterday here in mn... not bad until the hands hit the water...

Nice work, that looks really nice. Interesting we have same boat year and your inspection cover is much different than mine.

Thanks! Honestly, we planned it out together with our service manager but they did all the labor so I dont have an answer to exactly how it is mounted. I will take a look and see though. Finally the mn season has begun, get some neoprene gloves or mitts and you will be set. My favorite thing for cold water is a neoprene beanie, a full hood drives me nuts but the beanie gives me just enough warmth so you dont feel like you get the worst ice cream headache ever each time you hit the water.

Nice work, that looks really nice. Interesting we have same boat year and your inspection cover is much different than mine.

Thanks! We have full carpet in our boat not snap out so that would probably account for the difference. Not to many people have full carpet any more and when we talked to our dealer I am not sure its even offered anymore. Its really disappointing because we really like the full carpet plus the sound difference inside the boat is significant. When we demo'd one with snap out and we were really suprised at how much louder the engine noise was. It could also be we are used to it because our 09 had the same thing.

That is the best integration of a bow sac I have seen to date.

Looks like RayRay doesn't have pull up carpet. That's why his inspection hatch looks different.
