Any reason NOT to wax the hull?

Some time ago I seem to recall a body shop suggesting not to wax a freshly repainted car for a period of time.

If valid, does this apply to freshly molded boats in any way?

no it does not gel coat actually has to have wax on it or in the gel for it to be able to cure tack free. the mold is waxed before the gel is sprayed. and when you do a gel repair you have to use gel that has wax in it or after you spray the gel coat you have to spay a wax over the gel to keep the air away so it will dry tack free
