Hot water and Steam from under dash

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Just put my boat in for the first time this season and there was a constant rush of hot water from the floor under the dash and steam as hell from under the dash (Not smoke). Boat only ran 26 mph max but nothing on screen to indicate any issues.

Any ideas? Is there a hose somewhere that didn't get put back on after winterization?

Would this be something they touch on during the winterization process?

Yes, the heater core is thin copper tubing so it will freeze and bust before anything else. Either they didn't hook it back up properly or didn't drain it properly and it popped.

It is something that they should have touched on during winterization. Could be a leaky core, or just a loose hose clamp. I had a couple loose clamps in my engine bay first trip out from someone who hadn't tightened them all the way back up.

Awesome. Thanks for all the information guys. Now I know to drop it off at the guys who winterized it and hopefully they'll fix it for free.
