FAE Platform Risers

I'm looking at putting a FAE on my 2001 VLX but have limited space between my wedge and teak. Most of the pics on their site and others show the wedge in the down position. I contacted them today and was told I may need to add platform risers since I only have about 2.5" of clearance between the wedge and teak. Does anyone have pics of what this involves/will look like?

I think you could make 'em out of whatever you want. I know I've seen people using square stainless tubing too. Teak just seems the easiest to work with. You might even be able to just move the cross braces on your current platform out over the brackets (i.e. like the piece that your measuring tape is hitting)?

Uh I wouldn't be moving that one...

But yeah I'd go with teak.

10-4. Waiting on Larry to get back in touch with me with the solution. I don't know if they are including them with the system or if I'll have to source my own. HDPE would be another solution.

No not that exact one, but if there are other cross braces that are near the brackets but currently clear that could be scooted over a little to "interfere" that'd be an easy way to gain some clearance.

Ah I see what you are saying. First time I read it I thought you meant to remove that and use it as the riser(s). But re-engineering the braces so there is more room for FAE does sound like a good option.
