Help...what part do I need for these Illusion Swivel Racks?

I bought some Illusion Tower Swivel Rack Arms from ebay. Presumably they are the Metcraft swivel arms with the push button release. As the pictures show one side is compatible with my illusion tower holes.

But on the side where the rack would attach, I seem to be needing a bracket to attach to these four holes, where the forks would then attach to something.

Can anyone help with knowledge of what part may be needed?

no, it might appear that way, but if the forks went in those holes, then the forks would only be like 4" apart from each other; the forks would have to be further apart than that.

Plus I have several types of forks, and the top and bottom holes on the forks are about 2" further apart than the swivel arm holes.

There must be some type of bracket or mounting plate, that forks would mount to, that attaches to this piece. But, as with all illusion tower issues, I have to track down someone else who has the issue, to try to solve it.

Thanks goodness for TheMalibuCrew, or else I'd get nothing solved!

It would appear that a backing plate for the rack forks would attach to that. I would assume that you would have the 4 bolts come from the tower side and thread into the plate

If you are handy enough you could match drill the holes into a generic set of racks or what you might have now?

The backing plate on illusion tower racks doesn't have holes, it just has the 3 illusion tower pins that fit to the tower. Maybe there is a generic backing plate, or I could get one fabricated.....

no, I can't seem to find the backing plate necessary. These illusion x swivel racks appear to be a rare item. Even if I can just get some photos of what is needed, maybe I can get one made. Until then, the swivel racks are just sitting on the shelf.

I bought these swivels on ebay, and was hoping to get some use out of them. Never knew they were missing a critical part. If you find anything out, post it here and send me a PM.

thanks!

Did you ever have any luck with these? I just found somebody else selling something similar, but don't want to buy them if I can't use them. Is this the same thing that you bought?

I think I'm just going to drill out the cheap rack I have and attach it. As far as I can tell, no one has the mounting bracket for it and they are going to drill it out as well.

Bullet Lines makes adapters that attach to the Illusion on one end and to their swivel or rack on the other end.  You could use the Illusion end and then drill your own holes for what ever you want to hang on the other end.  The tower end bolt holes are angled and would be hard to drill without a special fixture.

I'm not sure I am following your thinking.  I would bolt the swivel to the tower, then drill the rack to match the holes where the swivel bolts to the rack.  Do you think this would work?

I would drill the face of the rack to match this ^.

Bolt the Bullet Lines bracket to the tower and then your swivel to the bracket - after drilling the needed holes in the stern end of the bracket.  Not sure if they'll sell the Illusion bracket separately but worth a call.
