Check Engine Flash

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

This year a couple times since i first put it in, while starting/directly after the boat the screen will read check engine for a second maybe two. Once the boat is on and running it goes off, and if you go into the diagnostic screen no code shows up.

I did add a second battery over the winter but that was the only change.

2006 Iride 320LCR

Any idea what could cause this or if it is an issue?

I'm not by any means saying that oil pressure is the problem, but having an oil change by no means prevents an oil pressure problem.

Also didn't you just get this boat, and have the dealer install the tower? Did they install the second battery too?

I bought the boat in September. Dealer had installed the tower prior to purchase. I did the second battery over the winter.

So this issue may be resolved. I have been having issues with the starter clicking and/or dragging so i replaced it, since that i have started the boat probably 10 times and the check engine has not come up. Has anyone experienced anything like this before and might be able to provide insight into what the cause may have been?

A starter will draw a lot more current as it goes bad, so you may have had a low voltage situation.

Also, the oil pressure will be lower with slow cranking speed. Could be either.
