Adjusting Tension on Illusion Tower

Recommended Posts

Bump.... just to clarify what I'm asking, I'm referring to the tension on the tower when you pull the pins and fold it forward. I'd like to put a little more tension on it.

I've only played with mine a little. It's light right now with no speakers or light.

I used a 7/16" ratcheting box end wrench and just tightened the jam nut to compress the spring a little more. Just look under the sides a little behind the tower base and you'll see how it works.

Hope this helps, Kevin...

Found this post - and also found that I needed to tighten tension on my illusion after adding speakers to the tower.

Question is: I started tightening (following instructions), and the cable connecting to the tower was turning as well. It was removing the tight wind on the cable and left the strands not twisted. Anyone seen this when tightening tension on their tower and is there anything that should be done about it?

If the nut is causing the screw/cable to turn, use needle nose vise grips to hold onto either end of the screw. I can hold mine with my weak fingers.
