tongue lock for Dorsey trailer?

Recommended Posts

I would discourage the one you posted. Really easy to pry off. This is the one I got. https://www.megahitchlock.com/ their promo videos show how its superior, after I got my last boat stolen I went with this one.

Their demo video is pretty funny. When they take the sawzall to their unit, they try to cut the bolt rather than just making a V from each side (from the coupler) to the furthest hole. That thing would cut off faster than the 6 minutes it took them to sawzall the other one off.

That being said, anything can be compromised. If I lived somewhere that things like that got stolen I'd probably use a wheel boot or chain the rims together on one side - or stop leaving it sitting outside where it could be stolen.

Edit: looking at it closer you wouldn't even need a V cut - just a straight cut about 1/2" behind the front of the thing.

The problem with all of those that go over the coupler...that model of coupler only attaches to the actual trailer with a couple of pins. If I was too worried about it I agree with the jeep - better find some way to lock the wheel.
