With all the news about Yahoo and Google selling/giving our info to "The Man", Gov't, who ever, just curious as to the purpose or meaning of them being show as active members online.

We don't need any more of "The Man" trying to keep a brotha down....

Those search engines are crawling our site picking up keywords so that when others are searching for say , Mailbu for instance, our site will be on the return list and direct that person to this site.

I figured it had something to do with their search bots. Curiosity got the best of me, Thanks.

Well, they are not doing a very good job...I typed "malibu boat forums" into a search engine and didn't get a link to this site

I say ban them...they are burning up our bandwidth, scaring our security conscious new members, and it gives me the creeps knowing there are "search bots" "crawling" around the site...reminds me of a snake crawling in the grass, up to no good...now I've got the eebie jeebies

I kinda got the same feeling when I noticed them. I'm not really a conspiracy theorist or anything of the like. I just don't want to deal w/ any of my info getting into the wrong hands.

That being said, search bots are a normal reality of the internet. They are what make the search engines efficient and accurate. So, it's kind of a give and take...

I agree with all the above some of us out here are not real good with computers (LIKE ME) when we were looking at bu's at the show our dealer introduced chris to us and we talked for hours and he told me if we got a boat he would tell us about an awsome site for malibu owners. and it sure is cool i agre they should only allowe members on here. we dont need hackers on this site.
