Can't remove high pressure filter, please help!

Recommended Posts

I feel like an idiot, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to remove the HP fuel filter on my Sunsetter. I can get the bottom screw loose, but the top won't budge to the point of stripping the nut. I'm afraid to torque any harder. And even if I can get it loose, then what? Loosen the metal band around it, push the fuel hose out of the way? Am I overcomplicating this?

Thanks guys!

You're talking about this set up, right?

what you need to do is soak it in PB blaster for a few days and then take a "line wrench" to it.

That's the one. Thanks. I was worried that was going to be to solution, but at least I wasn't getting outsmarted by the damn thing...it's just stronger than me!

As they have answered already on the flare wrenches, the 2nd answer is yes, just loosen the metal band and the fuel filter will slide out.
