Pyramid / DIYwake swing racks for Illusion X

I have 4 racks from Pyramid Manufacturing / DIYwake on my Illusion X tower, and the've been great. I'm considering adding their swing arm bracket to my racks: http://diywake.com/store/wakeboard-rack-swing-arm

Has anyone used this on an Illusion-X tower? If so, how do you like them? Do they allow the boards to swing completely inside of the boat?

Looks like they changed the design to one that works better. I've got one of the original pyramid hinges that has the latch on it on my Bayliner. It likes to release and send the boards swiveling into the head of the person sitting near them when it gets bumpy. I wound up having to drill it for a pin just to keep it in place. Funny that it looks like they did entirely away with the latch now.

I was only looking for a swing option because I bought one of Pyramid's wake/surf combo racks, and the forks are huge! (15.5" long, vs 9" for the standard wakeboard forks.) They're so long that they would be an issue pulling into my boat lift. Can anyone suggest a wake/surf combo rack with shorter fork lengths?

I don't get how those would work with the Illusion X.

Might also be able to adapt one of these - if the mounting pattern could work with your tower. It should be long enough to swing around the tower like the racks on a G3

Looks promising!

Might not, I've got no idea what the mounting pattern looks like on an illusion, but figured that you currently have some sort of adapter to the standardish 4 bolt aftermarket pattern.

I do. I guess I just don't understand how they work, period.

Basically they mount to the boat using bolts with heads that stick up enough to engage the rack so it can't spin. Then the post on the quick mount goes through the center of the rack and is secured with a thumbscrew.

Might not be a bolt on solution but something that would be pretty easy to modify your racks to fit if you are not afraid of drilling into them ;)

Without a photo I'm still not following you. Anyway, I think I'm going to go in a different direction. Going to try to rig something on top of the bimini for surf boards, and keep the tower-mounted racks for wakeboards.
