Hybrid tower setup; can I toggle amp on-off with remote switch?

I have a "Hybrid" speaker setup on my tower; (4) wakesurf conventional and (2) Hi-power HLCD. I have separate amps powering the setup; one for all the wakesurfs and one for the HLCDs (these boys take a lot of amps). Both amps are being controlled from the tower output on my WS-420 EQ.

There are situations where I don't want the HLCDs on. Can I use a toggle switch on that Amps remote "turn-on" to switch just that pair of speakers off? In concept I think this will work, but wasn't sure if this would harm the AMP and speaker set using the remote turn-on in this manner.

Thanks.

Can't use a toggle but you could an interrupt the RCA wire at the amp that powers the HLCD & install one of these.

You can get them at Best Buy too I just couldn't find them on their site

Definitely a thought, but this would add a lot more RCA length (sound degradation) and possible cost. Hi-end RCAs back and forth to the drivers set would cost a lot more than an second 16 gauge remote wire for the one amp.

I a toggle on the REM (blue usually) would work perfectly. Just get two toggles for both amps and your in business.

My friend does that on his boat with a switch on the remote wire. He doesn't use it to switch between 2 types of tower speakers, but rather just to turn them off and on and it works perfectly. He doesn't have the wetsounds or exile volume controls so the switch is used to turn the tower speakers off when picking up a rider and giving instructions.
