G3 Tower bimini MOD

Hi Guys,

I cannot believe that Malibu designed the bimini to fold back when they produced the boats with G3 towers (2010).....looks like that poor designed was for the earlier production models for that year.

I will be ordering hinges to allow for a forward folding but in the meantime, is it ok to tow with the bimini folded back? Looks like it would put a lot of weight on the vertical bars. Also whats the best tool to use to cut the bimini bar with, I am guessing pipe cutter.......... ;)

thanks

My Bimini was custom made on my last boat, so it hung far behind. I wanted to mod it as well, but I couldn't change the angles of the lower legs because of its size. But as I mentioned above, no problems

Depending on the length of your support arms you might be able to unclick the bimini on the outside clips and swing it under the tower and bungee it to the tower with the supports clipped in to hold it. We did this untill i got the parts to cut and hinge it. It will strap right to your tower and look great.
