What is under the carpeted floor of my 2006 247?

I saw a thread on another website where a guy ripped out his carpet, sanded the floor down, then covered it with an epoxy agent and then purchased some decadence flooring.

The project did not look that difficult, and the end result was spectacular. I don't like the carpet on my floor, it seems like it is starting to smell like a wet dog when it is wet, although I try and dry it out every outing. It just doesn't get very dry very fast in my garage, and I have a ceiling fan and a portable fan to help out. His was an older boat with a wood floor. I think my floor is made of King starboard, and the gas tank cover is made of metal. I have a carpet saver, but the water often gets underneath it, so then I have carpet saver to deal with when I get home just making me have twice as much carpet to have to dry out, so although I think it has saved some wear and tear on my base layer, it has been more work than I want to deal with, and now I leave it at home depending on if the trip involves little kids and potato chips.

Has anyone converted an older (2006ish) Malibu to a glassed type floor so they could put down some Deckadence flooring? I am not even 100% sure what the floor under the carpet is made of.

I think I would prefer the deckadence flooring on top of a fiberglass resin material if I could get that done, although the Seadek is pretty sweet. Epic uses a Seadek flooring and I was sort of unimpressed how it looked once it had been used for a couple of years. The spongy stuff absorbs lots of permanent little knicks and scratches just from typical use. It didn't exactly look terrible, but it was impossible to restore to a 'like new' condition.

I would aim not to remove the carpet in the lockers, as I like it there. I was hoping just to carve it out right at the bases and not have to remove the entire seat bases or particularly the cooler, which sounds like it was a bear. I could even then just put a rubber curb against the carpet if I had to in order to make a nice border, similar to what I think the new boats have.

If I have fiberboard like that under there, it would work perfect for what I am thinking.

And after the epoxy was laid down:
