How to remove side decals

Recommended Posts

I was wondering how hard it is to remove the Wake setter decals from the side of the boat without damaging anything? Haven't decided for sure, but I like the cleaner look of just the Malibu towards the back of the boat and not having to wax around all that stuff is a plus too.

You may be able to get them off without any heat but if needed a $15 heat gun from Harbor Freight and some Goof Off could make life a little easier. Just be sure to wash and wax after.

Just did mine last week. Used a hair dryer...still took a while and left a ton of adhesive on the boat! I used 3M adhesive remover and a old debit card to slide off all the adhesive.

I took mine off.......peel slowly. I used my wife's hairdryer to get the really sticky parts off and the WS logo in the middle. A little "goo gone" for the residue on the boat, finish with a wash and wax, and wah-lah!

On a side note, I wanted to take mine off before the sun faded the paint around it and it was ingrained for life on the side of my boat. Good luck!
