2002 Cobalt 262 home-made surfgate...?

Hey all, 1st time poster here...

I've purchased the family boat from my father-in-law.

It is a great Tahoe boat when it gets rough, but we've also goofed around with pulling up the engine a bit, dialing in a slower speed, doing a slight turn on the surfer's side to create/get a pretty good ramp for wake surfing. It doesn’t have the push needed for drop-line surfing yet, but I think we're just a slight adjustment/addition away from this.

I'm thinking of adding trim tabs on the aft-V by the engine (maybe Penta-type as they are low profile?) and some sort of 2nd set of traditional trim tabs/gates (modified for the correct shape needed) off the "aft-corners" of the boat, but as there are no flat/vertical surface (on the aft-corners) it makes it a bit challenging.

Has anybody else done some additions/modifications like this to an older Cobalt? I don't mind spending a few thousand dollars for this vs $100k+ for a new Wake Surfing boat.

Comments and ridicule can begin now... ;-)

Thanks!

Any type of surfing behind a I/O is out of the question..... If you wanna keep your extremities that is.

You won't find much love here regarding this topic, good luck to you.
