subsonic filtering

So I am looking at running my image dynamics idq 12v3d4 in a ported box. The "audiophile" recommended box is 1.9ft3 tuned at 28hz. I have two amps to choose from, a JL MHD750/1 or a JL XD 600/1. Both have a non-adjustable infrasonic filter @30hz. Is this going to work?

That's just about perfect when you consider the behaviors of both.

The subsonic filter is steep and so is the bass-reflex roll-off below tuning frequency. The sub/enclosure half power point is likely to be a little higher than the tuning frequency. Below this, as the sub is rolling off rapidly, the woofer is beginning to unload, wastes movement, and loses power handling. So to have a coincidental filter half power point and bass-reflex half power point is ideal.

I have the same sub and have been wanting to do this for a while. Do you have the exact dims of the enclosure worked out yet? Please share your final thoughts once you complete the project.
