Not to create more work for Wakegirl, but instead of counting the paid users, maybe count the actual posts up by state of origination. That would be a an interesting way of measuring actual contribution by state instead of simply representation.

Another interesting analysis might be to count up most posts by a single user in their first year. My money is on afun, who's averaging close to 5 posts a day. Impressive.

I'm laughing so hard at that right now, that's hilarious. Let's just say that the gap between MI & OH is very, very close. Much closer than the gap between OH & WA, or between MI & the one at #6. But props to the midwest, you guys also represent well.

I counted paid members, not total registrations or active members. To try & do that....it would take me some time to just figure out the query, & then the board would have to translate the IP addresses. I'm not sure I want to do that to the server. I think that it's close enough to be close enough.

Hmm... Well my official address on Wakegirls file is probably Illinois but all of my boating is in Michigan. I think next time I up my registration I'll have to put in my Michigan address.

LOL, I never defended Ohio but the Michigan pride is funny. Plenty of flat land in Michigan too. Ohio has 70MPH speed limits in a number of places now. At least Cleveland isn't Detroit.

Why is it funny to have pride in where you live? I think if people had more pride in their state/city, the world would be a better place.

As far as Detroit is concerned, have you ever been there Nitrous? I lived there for 4 years and Detroit is actually an amazing city. Some of the best architecture, food and culture I have ever experienced is in Detroit. And it is full of great people that have a ton of pride in their city, they just don't have the economic means to change anything. The corruption there is rampant and the people are the victim. The extent of what you know about Detroit is the same as most people. The crappy buildings you see when you drive by it at 80 miles per hour on the expressway.

Every state has its good and bad parts. Cleveland has some amazing parts too. The Cleveland Clinic is probably the best cardiology hospital in the world. And the symphony orchestra is also one of the best. I'm also sure that it is full of mostly great people that have been affected negatively by their circumstances.

You are clearly a bright guy and add a lot to this forum but you have to stop with the negativity man. Your posts are like a black cloud 90% of the time.
