Will the KMR-D558BT Kenwood work with Sony wired remotes

For Starters - Kenwood made some poor decision for 2014 in the way the marine lineup interfaces with the remotes that Kenwood Marine offer. I am also going to say no - remotes are proprietary so you can interchange b/t kenwood and sony etc.

So the Kenwood bluetooth marine units are only compatible with the non display remotes (KCA -35mr). The marine units that do not offer BT are compatible with the display remotes (KCA-55mr). You have to wonder why both units don't allow for both remotes? or why is the more complete unit with BT not allow for the higher end display remote?

So the question comes down to to what is more important...BT or a remote that offers a Display.

Any suggestions on a marine unit?

Does it need to me marine?

Sony DSX 310 BTX is a bad azz unit and works with sony display remote. Sony is making good high end units.

They also came out with a new model... Something like the NEX 70 it might be marine too
