What else do I need?

I ordered a "tank buster" kit from wake makers for a older 04 bu (long story) and now have no use for it except for the 1100lb bag. Basically I wanna know what other parts I need to turn this "tank buster" kit into the regular "piggy back" kit for my current boat. Called wakemakers and they said I need to order a whole new piggy back kit, but I may not have explained myself very well. Figured you guys would know. Here are the parts I currently have. Thanks

I am sorry that we could not help you over the phone. That is a difficult issue to explain for sure. If you want something similar to the Malibu piggy back system you will need a bag, 3x Fly High 3/4" Bag Quick Connects (33036), 2 feet of 3/4" hose (31001), and a 3/4" hose barb wye fitting (32007). If you do not want to vent the bag you could use what you have now and plumb the system like the pre 2013 Axis PnP boats. Water flows into the top of the bag from the pump and out the bottom of the bag and into the top of the hard tank.

Instructions using the parts you have:

1. Remove the fill line from your hard tank. Connet the longer of the included hoses to the hose using the barb union and run it to the top of your ballast bag. Try to use the port furthest back on top of the bag

2. You will then connect a new short section of hose (1 to 2 feet) to run from the drain port on the bottom of the bag into the open barb on your hard tank. This hose should be as short as possible with the least amount of vertical rise. You will need to use the black elbow fitting from the drain pump adpater. You will not use that white barb. Save the short section of hose.

3. Lastly run the shorter pre fabricated hose length from the open port on the top of the bag to a wye fitting toward the side of the boat. You will need to remove that 3/4" barb union from the end. Take the vent line off of the thru-hull in the side of the boat and connect it to a barb on the wye. Use that little short section on hose that is currently on the drain pump adapter and use it to run from the open barb on the wye to the thru-hull fitting.

The Wakemakers Malibu PiggyBack relies on gravity to move the water from the bag to the hard tank in both the filling and draining phase of opperation. The small 3/4" hose size that Malibu used from 2002 to 2011 restricts the flow which will result in not so fast draining. There are many ways to speed the system up. Use the search function on this website and research what other users have done to modify the functionality in order to fit their needs. The kit is designed to be very inexpensive and most importantly easy to install. Feel free to email us, [email protected], with anymore questions you may have.
