anyone have a good recommendation for a lightning to 30 pin adapter?

I have bought 2 of the $37 apple ones for the iphone sync, both of them stopped working within hours (slipping off in the glove box). Is there a better version out there?

Saw this one, but $50 including audio? Holy crap, what a joke.

I agree, the 9 pin is stupid. Although not having an incorrect way to plug in is nice. I'm sure a large part of the adapter cost is licensing fees. Also depends on the DAC their using.

My strategy is to avoid the adapter issue entirely. I either use Bluetooth or a HU with USB and an internal DAC so that the existing Lightning cable works.

I tried a pile of 30 pin to Lightning adapters when they first came out. ONLY the Apple one actually worked for audio, even though every unit I ordered (and got my money back for) claimed to as well. My Apple one has lasted just fine as well.

It's actually 8 pin and is just fine...it's stupid of these head unit and accessory makers to continue to rely on the analog portion of the 30-pin dock connector for so many years.

There is a good argument that Apple had to do a proprietary connector instead of a mini/micro USB connector. That said, the Lightning connector is an easier to connect, more robust connector than the USB alternative.

I have the apple one for my truck, has worked great since september ish, I ordered a 5 pack of generic ones off amazon and they each worked for about a week.
