Rankin Boat Cover on Lift

Does anyone use a rankin cover on a lift. Need to be able to secure while standing on swim platform. Does cover fold up small enough to fit behind observers seat. Right now I use a canvas cover and just draw the drawstring tight works OK because lift also has a cover. Canvas cover it about shot. Trying to decide if it would be worth the extra money for a Rankin Cover when I do very little towing.

One of the reasons I bought the Rankin was the way it clips to the rail and snugs tight from the rear. I also have the boat on a hoist all summer and want to put the cover on while in the boat and stand on the platform to tighten it. It should work (I hated standing in the water doing up ropes and bungees on the other covers I've had). The only challenge will be securing it around the tower and doing up the zippers while in the boat - we'll see in a couple of weeks when we put the boat on the lift. The cover should also fit in the observer compartment without a problem.

Can you put it on completely while IN the boat without too much problem or do you put it on from the dock?

That would be a problem if you have a tower that you have to zip up around the tower legs. If it doesn't have a tower it shouldn't be too much trouble to walk off the back of the boat to the platform and cinch it down. The Rankin has padded "Hooks" that fit under the rubrail and you would have to make sure they were in place before you tightned it down.
