Sometimes Wont Run & Rev

Hey guys, Over the Weekend i had a slight issue With my Sunsetter. It only happend twice over the whole weekend but it was enough to get me thinking. so i went to start my boat (this time Without waiting for Fuel Pump Or Guages Etc) and when the boat started it just ran rough for a second or so and then stopped. this happened twice then i pushed in the silver button the disengage the Transmission so i could rev it and it didnt seem to want to rev, i turned the boat off and then cycled the key again and it was fine. ran fine for the rest of the day. could it be possible the fuel filter is becoming blocked or maybe the fuel pump just didnt get pressure up? im not sure where to start so any help would be much appreciated! thanks in advance.

I wait for the fuel pump to prime, especially if on the first start of the day.

I concur on the fuel pump not fully primed prior to starting. Clean filters always help, but not enough or consistent fuel pressure is a deal killer.
