What are you pulling your trailer with?

Towed my 12 23 LSV with a 03 5.3 suburban with 373s.

Too heavy a boat for those gears.

We tow our Echelon with my wife's 2011 F250 diesel. After having my 2005 F150 for 6 years towing various boats, there is no comparison in towing. It doesn't even know the Malibu is back there & we get to tow our 8,000lb Trailer up the mountains in 6th gear. We just got back from a trip to Yellowstone then Seattle, back to Lodi & got 14 MPG. I absolutely love this truck & plan to replace "my" Dodge Dually with a new Ford Dually this year.

Ah Lodi, I lived their from 1987 to 1993 on Pinot Noir Lane. Miss it. We had our kids there and a lot of wild parties.

2006 23 LSV -> 02 Suburban 1500

Safe, but lacking power and "doggy". I recently towed it with an F150 EB and was blown away at how well it towed. Even better braking power, far better tow power, etc. I still stand by the suburban being a safe viable option but be prepared to let your speed be at the mercy of the road's grade - even gentle grades will drop your mph considerably.

I pull the VLX with our Denali 6.2L. It has tons of power, no down shifting, easy pull, however it only gets 9 mpg at 70mph. http://IMG_0130.jpg

They could have at least given the chevy the courtesty of a 4:10 rear end.

As someone who just truck shopped diesels I was told by the Chevy and GMC dealership that they only offer 3.73 gears in the diesel engines now. I was surprised, they said that since the engines offered so much torque they did not offer the different gears. They also said that a good amount of the people buying duramax are using them primarily for daily drivers and only for occasional towing.
