340 Monsoon Oil Pressure Gauge

Recommended Posts

I replaced the oil sensors on my 2004 Malibu Monsoon 340, but the gauge still shows oscilate from no pressure to regular pressure and the digital display also gives me a warning oil pressure. Does anybody have any suggestions?

That's pretty scary. Do you think that you have oil pressure?

I am sure I have oil pressure, I believe is a bad ground or lose wire. I just want to know if someone else had this problem before so I know where to start.

Or if anyone have a suggestion to fudge a reading so the message would stop.

After chasing wiring, taking it in to the shop, my case is the gauge itself

Sounds like a poor ground, could your battery be faulty. An actual reading like that would be due to very low oil level thus sucking air at the inlet screen.

If you have a mechanical gauge throw that on just to make sure it isn't the actual oil pressure changing.

You replaced BOTH sensors?

What did you use to seal threads?
Teflon tape will create a bad ground.

Good call. No teflon tape, Use pipe dope only when bolting on sensors.

wiggle your cannon plug. It is the plug that connects the helm wiring to the engine. Plug is on the engine.
