Trailer Guide Poles

Much like the other thread where the interior carpet was lost, I have lost one of my trailer guide poles.

Any idea where I could get a new one? It's a 2005 Extreme trailer for a Malibu Response LXi.

Did you loose the whole metal pole and all? Becuase ya, the guide pads are easily replaced. The hole pole on the other hand will have to be fabricated, or you may be ableto get a replacement from Extreme. Those guys have been a real PITA to deal with though since the ownership change a few years back.

I know the tubing size is 2" as I converted one of my old ones from the flat style to the roller style. I bought some 2" stell tubing and welded it to the square bases. Then a nice coat of paint and it was done. You could do the same, but will need someone with a bender to put the arch into the bottom of the pole. Most exhaust shopd should be able to do the bend for you. Don't use exhaust tubing though, its not strong enough. Then you just get some PVC pipe and a cap to place the foam guides onto.

OK... So I'll bite...

How did you lose one of your guide posts?

If Extreme won't help, take your remaining one to any steel fab shop. they can make one..

I was just driving down the highway. I checked the remaining one when I got home and it was loose. I guess the set screws had backed out and I didn't notice.

It's even more funny since on the way TO the lake I lost the lid to my ice chest. It was REALLY full with ice. So much so it wouldn't really close properly. I guess some wind caught it and away it went.

Pretty much I was just a menace on the highway last weekend. Not my finest hour by any means... :loser:

Sounds like you could have been in a All State commercial.
