I have a slight leak that appears to becoming from the shift seal? Any idea how difficult that is to repair?

This all depends on how mechanical you are and what facilities you have available to work on it. It involves pulling the trans out of the boat, putting it on a bench and changing the seals (which is usually the easiest part) and reinstalling it. I would plan on replacing both front and rear seals while it's out. Seals are in expensive vs. the time and hassle of pulling the trans for a second time. Pulling the trans involves removing the motor box, sucking the fluid out, disconnecting the coupling, disconnecting the trans cooler lines, shift cable, neutral safety switch, moving the ECM housing bracket out of the way, then unbolting the trans and lifting it out. Changing the seals on the bench is done with basic tools, then you put it all back together. Most of the tools needed would be in any well stocked tool box. Two guys could do it in about 4 hours.

I just re read the original post. I thought I read it as a output shaft seal earlier. Where is the leak? Any pics?

"Shaft" seal vs shift seal? Shaft seals are supposed to leak.

I understand about a shaft seal. But the output shaft seal on the back of the trans. is NOT supposed to leak. It gets kind of messy.
