Thanks for the heads up guys! It is damaged. Jeff the shaper got back to me today on Sunday and confirmed it was damaged during shipping. He said its a easy fix and that he will be sending me a shipping label to get it back to him ASAP. Great customer service!

The board also made it on the front page of his website. The only bad news is...I won't be able to surf it this weekend.

Bummer. You'd think there would be some foam/bubble wrap around the edges to protect such a delicate/expensive item.

This thing was packaged fantastically. They must have thrown an Anvil at it.

Afun- what model is that orange/carbon one they said would change our thoughts on wakesurfs????

I was implying that both Soulcraft Jetty and The Walker Project Bomb Pop will change your perspective on Wakesurfing. I think these are the two superior board companies. Phase 5 is pretty awesome too.

Yeah, I have found UPS doesn't damage boards as much as FedEx. I will let Jeff know.

I will say that it must have been a freak accident. The box looked great when it arrived. The packaging was done great. Jeff has been nice enough to give me a day bag for my board for all of my troubles.

everyone seems to love the surf style boards, what am I missing. I've ridden a few boards, surf and skim but prefer the skim style more, Someone enlighten me. I plan to get a new board this off season, I currently have a 5' skim style and am looking for something smaller and more manuverable on a big wave. The last surf style I rode wore me out as I felt like I had to ride the brakes the entire time, and those fins make it tough to break loose. Top on my list right now is a LF Doum.

Sounds to me like you need to get yourself a Small Phase 5 Danielo Diamond.

I definately need to ride some more boards, what do you like about the surf style boards over skim style? the speed?

The fact that I don't have to keep the rails of the skimmer constantly in the wave. Also, being on your toes leaning towards the wave gets tiring for me. I like the carving, speed and ability to do big bottom turns and not lose the wave with the surfer.

AFun, how much did that Soulcraft run you? If you don't want to disclose the number, feel free to PM. I surfed behind a surf-style board last week and it was a blast... not as fun as skim though ;). I think it was a Ronix, but I would definitely be more interested in supporting the smaller brands companies such as Phase 5, Shred Stixx, Soulcraft, Brigade, etc.

how a ronix and how a soulcraft would ride back to back is like how a camry and a corvette would attack the same road race course. Sure, a pro can get a lot out of a camry, but most weekend warriors can get more from the corvette.

I really want one after riding at the p-bear. It's just a lot of scratch! (700-1000 range depending on options, shipping etc).

I've always ridden skim. Am I going to appreciate a surf style board on my relatively small VTX wave (when compared to a VLX or LSV anyway)? Will it allow me to get enough speed to get some air?

The Soulcraft will have some Pop to it. I have the Sex Panther board which is all about speed. The board was 950. It was custom color and logo.

MCO, I have 2012 Ronix Parks Carbon 5'1 and had 2013 Ronix Parks Carbon 4'7. Those may be the best boards that the wakeboard companies have to offer. They opened my eyes to the possibility of doing more. I think that's where Soulcraft and the custom boards come in. I am returning the board via Fed Ex today. Hopefully, I get it back before it gets too cold.

By the way MCO, that Phase 5 board you got is The Top Of The Line Skimmer

Lol, I really could not justify $800-$1000 for a board. But, just like anything, you've got to pay to play.

I'm ballin' on a budget.

I'm not sure that it's "top the line", simply because I have not tried all skims, but it's definitely no slouch based on my ride time/others review.

I'm all about cost-to-value. When I see a good deal, I pounce on it. I have a feeling a second hand/demo/closeout surf style board may be in my future. Eyes open
